• A Parent’s Worst Nightmare!

  
  

  I just received a few emails from a cousin I haven’t seen in many years. Just recently, he had asked my sister for our email addresses, knowing that this is often times an easier way to stay in contact. He is the brother of the cousin who’s the Executor of the estate of my aunt who died in August of 2003. He had spent several years on our aunt’s farm, helping with the cows & general farming.

  
  

  In the first email, my cousin informed me that his sister’s son was killed in an avalanche while snowboarding in Idaho. He was one of 3 who’d gotten trapped by the avalanche, one of whom managed to get out to seek help. The other trapped young man was also found dead.

  No wonder I was feeling bad vibes since yesterday. I had never gotten to know Peter & hadn’t seen his mom, my cousin, in many years.
