  • Here's something I worked on today, in another of my new graphic toys... Bryce 5, a landscape & 3D generating & animation program. I had to scrap & restart a half dozen times (working with one of the included tutorials)! Damn tutorials that are incomplete or unclear!

My son said "Cool" when he found out I got this program. He has played with it before, on the school's computers (Macs, V2). When he saw that this one is version 5, he figured the one he played with is 'antiquated,' but I rather doubt that, knowing how few programs there are out there for Macs that are also available for PCs, & that they don't upgrade the ones for Macs as often as for the PCs.

I started on the second included tutorial, but as usual, I'm not doing something quite right, because I can't get the dragonfly's eyes positioned in the right place (following their instructions). I've already scrapped it once & will have to again, because not only can't I get the eyes right, but the dimension of the tail portion didn't come out the same as it should have, & did the first time. Perhaps I'm better off finding users' tutorials, just like with Paint Shop Pro! *Sigh*

  • looking good! nice stuff to play around with..

  • Briannakye on xanga is most proficient in this program!!

    Sail on... sail on!!!

  • wow! neat .. the purple matches your site ... lol!!!

you're lucky to live on the big island ... i've gotta go battle traffic AGAIN ... damn, it sucks everyday ... month ... year ... driving around oahu ...

2 days in a row we had jumpers off the freeway to town AND today again it's drizzle, wet roads ... makes you wonder how we all learned to drive!!!

anywayz ... have a good day ... it's finally aloha friday!!!

    colleen

  • Yeah, Oahu's traffic sucks. There are too many people on such a small island!

As for the jumpers... I was on Oahu, just going from the airport to Tripler & learned that H1 was shut down because of the woman jumper, who had hit a car, causing major traffic delays. I was late for my appointment, but since I brought my cell phone, was able to call & let them know.

I doubt the second woman was a jumper, because of her age... in her late 60s-early 70s? But I haven't heard much more about either. Such a shame. That's not normally a way a female commits suicide. Most think about what it would mean to others & not want to hurt someone else. They also don't want to 'mess up their looks. Too many coincidences I think, from just what little I know.

  • Cool

  • First off, I did not lump anybody, nor did I once say that every person on public assistance is lazy or anything else.  And quite frankly, I am sick and tired of being accused of "lumping" people together just because I mention that there ARE people out there who are living off welfare generation after generation or are too lazy to get a job or who refuse to take a job they consider "beneath" their dignity.  And I'm sick of the issues being brushed under the liberal rug and people like yourself trying to obscure the truth by painting a totally INACCURATE picture of what I wrote.  The ISSUE is these idiots refusing to pay taxes because they don't agree with how their money is being used.  The ISSUE is that everybody has a problem with one or two ways in which their money is used and these IDIOTS can't seem to grasp that if we all followed their lead, not one single dollar would EVER be paid into the tax system.  Address the ISSUE instead of trying to rewrite my blog in from your own skewed perspective of what I said.

And please don't expect me to just accept some statistic you fling out there -- back it up.  I happen to know several people who are among that top 5% of wage earners and the most certianly DO pay taxes ... they hand over more in taxes every year than the average American EARNS in a year.  So perhaps you need to practice what you preach and REFRAIN from "lumping", eh?

    Peace,

    Bri

  • I get it -- so everybody whose perspective and opinions differ from yours are "warmongers", right?  President Bush doesn't agree with YOUR opinion and so he can't POSSIBLE be sincere in his stated rationale that is supported and agreed upon by the majority of people in this country, right?  Nobody could possibly see a different path to the same goal than yours without it being suspect, right?

Had Gore been declared the winner, it would have been because the FLORIDA Supreme Court declared it so.  However, you and others like you conveniently ignore that little factoid in your desire to ignore that BOTH sides screwed up the election and your deep-seded desire and need to lay the blame purely at the feet of the opposing party.  I'm sorry, but I think you need to open your mind and your eyes to the fact that there is more than one way to skin a cat ... and just because somebody has a different solution (even one you don't think will work) doesn't mean their motivations are insincere or invalid.  Neither Repubs nor Dems are perfect -- we are all just HUMAN.  And that INCLUDES GW Bush.  The Iraqi people NEEDED assistance and they WANTED assistance and we PROVIDED assistance.  The former Iraqi regime WAS dangerous ... I guess the difference between you and I is that I don't give a flying rat's patootie if that danger was to the entire world or just to a few million Kurds and other Iraqi citizens who lived under the threat of death and torture every single day.  "The Whim of a Madman" is not just a line from a movie, it is the perfect description of the HORRORS the Iraqi people endured every single day.  But gee, I guess that doesn't matter so long as it wasn't an AMERICAN in direct danger, eh?

  • The economic CYCLE began it's downturn BEFORE Bush took office.

Hundreds of thousands of those jobs were lost as a result of, gee, can you say two towers and the Pentagon being crashed into by airplanes???  I knew you could!!!  People stopped traveling ... airlines, hotels, resorts lost money ... gee, they had to cut jobs.  Go figure!!!  But hey, let's just ignore that because from your attitude so far, I'm sure you are among those wack jobs who are trying to lay 9-11 at Bush's feet, too.

Um -- Bagdhad was suffering????  The poeple weren't getting enough money from the UN OFF program???  And that is the UN'S FAULT???  Pray tell, Pikake, then WHERE did the money come to build over TEN LAVISH PALACES for Mr Hussain's comfort and security???????

So, because he opened education, it doesn't matter than he wiped out a few million Kurds?  It doesn't matter that he tortured and beat and murdered people who refused to do what he wanted them to do?  If the man was the saint you want us to believe he was, Pikake, do tell why the Iraqi people were GLAD to see American forces once the hounds of hell were beat back off their heels?  Or does that not count because you know from watching the History channel that Saddam may have at one point in history done one decent thing?

Oh, and Pikake, I am well aware of the history of Iraq and am well aware of where campain funds come from.  Now, you tell me when the last penniless dirt farmer from the middle of Nowheresville -- with no money, no BIG BUSINESS connections, no ties to INDUSTRY -- was elected President and then you might have the beginnings of a refutation to my arguement.  It takes MONEY to run a campaign ... PERSONAL money as well as campaign finances ...  If you think that Special Interest Groups pay every single dollar for a candidate from the moment  Mr Unknown Nobody sticks his hand in the air and says, "I wanna run for President", you are dreaming!!!

The simple fact here is that you don't even seem to be mature enough to can the childish name calling and call the President by his NAME -- you insist on calling him Jr and your "tone" makes it very clear you are attempting to be insulting ... just like those who call him Shrub or any other idiotic nickname.  When you grow up and grasp that just because you don't agree with the way the "other side" chooses to go about achieving a goal does NOT mean they don't have the same sincere desire to reach that goal, your words are hollow.

Again, practice what you preach.  I don't rely on "sources", I rely on what my head, heart, and my own EYES tell me.  And when I do listen to news stories, I take in information from various sources and various points of view and put together a FAR clearer picture of the truth than just listening to a one sided storyline, as you appear to do.  I have never claimed Bush is a Saint ... and I certianly didn't spend 8 years WHINING and BITCHING because Clinton won the elections back when I felt about him the way you feel about GWB.  I didn't call him moronic nicknames or whine incessently about "ulterior motives" because I happen to understand that he wanted to job because he felt he could make a difference.  ME not agreeing that how he choose to go about making that difference WOULD effectively make a difference DID NOT ALTER the fact that HE wanted to make a difference and believed his methods were the best way to do so.  When and if you ever manage to reach that same understanding, we might have a shot at a real conversation.  As long as you have your "Liberals are God, Conservatives are Satan" blinders in place, there is no way we can hold a productive discussion.

    Peace,
    Bri

  • Bri... I didn't do any name-calling. And Jr is correct when differentiating him from his dad, since they're BOTH named George Bush, just as I call his dad Sr.

You insist upon lumping me into a category, just as you have people who don't fit your ideals. I am NOT a liberal! As I told you on your blog, I do NOT like Democrats, in general, because they usually fuck up the economy. I don't go by political party, but by the candidate's record, which neither Bush suited my choice. Nor did Clinton or Gore, but the stupid voters think there are only 2 parties, therefor only 2 candidates for the office of the President of the US (there were 7 last election). Stupid media screws up people's thinking about who to vote for, by ignoring the other candidates (some of which DON'T have big business ties... so where do you get off with your remark?). Dumb voters think they need to make their vote count, so vote for who the media & polls indicate has the best chance of winning. That doesn't work either, since it's the Electoral College who actually elects the President (or the Supreme Court, in the case of Jr).

As for the economy's downward slide, that started during Sr's term of office. Isn't it odd that if he were so popular, as the media keeps insisting even now, that he'd have served more than one term?

You have a habit of attacking individuals, without ANY proof to back up your claims. I gave you proof, which you have apparently ignored, since it goes against what you claim.

No, Saddam isn't a saint. There are bad things he's done. Yes, he has more than one palace, but then, doesn't the US President? Doesn't Jr live a lavish lifestyle while people in his country die on the streets (even one right in front of the White House, while his dad was in office)? Aren't there people in this country living on the streets? Aren't there people unable to get appropriate health care? Aren't there tens, if not hundreds of thousands of families in this country living in poverty, as set by the guidelines of the Federal government?

Get off your high-horse, Bri. There are just as many humanitarian issues in THIS country which needs the attention of our politicians. It is a total waste of taxpayer monies to keep soaking it in other countries' humanitarian issues while ignoring our own.

You are expecting the oil of Iraq to support the Iraqi people, yet OUR OWN oil belongs to private businesses! When Bush decides that the nation's resources profits belong to the PEOPLE of this nation, not the elite few,THEN I will back him. But his goals are entirely selfish! He won't do for THIS country what he is saying he wants to do for other countries, especially Iraq & now South Africa!
